What We Accept
- What items do you accept for consignment?
- We accept on-trend women's apparel and accessories in perfect or near-perfect condition: clothing, shoes & boots, handbags, wallets, scarves, gloves, hats, belts, jewelry, and original artisan accessories. Items must be in style and in season, freshly washed and wrinkle-free, flawless (no stains, marks, tears, or missing/broken parts), authentic (no replicas or counterfeits), free of odours and pet hair, and not on our unaccepted brands list.
- Are there any items you never accept?
- Yes. We do not accept used undergarments, swimwear, or sleepwear. We also do not accept items previously consigned at reFind, counterfeit/replica items, or items from brands on our unaccepted brands list.
Getting Started
- How do I make a consignment appointment?
- Call us at 403-556-1025, email consign@refindclothing.com, message us on Facebook or Instagram, or stop in. Let us know how many items you're bringing in. Please curate first: eliminate brands, styles, out-of-season and damaged items we won't accept, and count your items.
- How should I prepare and drop off my items?
- Bring your items pressed and neatly folded in a bag or box. Our staff will select the items we believe our customers will purchase, based on several criteria. We examine your items the same day and return the unaccepted items to you. Unaccepted items not picked up by the end of that day will be donated.
Consignment Period
- How long do you keep my items on the sales floor?
- We display accepted items for a minimum of 40 days, and they may stay on the floor longer as space permits. After 40 days, unsold items may be removed from the sales floor.
- How do I get my unsold items back?
- We do not automatically return unsold items. Call us 38 days from the date your items were put on the sales floor and we'll gather your unsold items within 2 business days. Collect them within 5 days of calling (or on a pick-up date arranged with our staff), otherwise they will be donated. Please note items may not be reconsigned — reconsigned items will be donated without notice.
- What happens to unaccepted or unsold items?
- Items that are not accepted, not collected after a return request, removed after the consignment period, or found unsuitable for sale become the property of reFind and may be donated. We donate to charitable organizations that align with our values, at reFind's sole discretion.
Payment
- How much do I earn when my items sell?
- You receive 40% of the final selling proceeds of each item, added to your credit account balance. Your credit never expires and grows as your items sell. You're credited for any sale of your items even if the consignment period has expired or items are sold outside of reFind. You may inquire about your balance any time during store hours.
- How do I get paid?
- You can use your credit to shop at reFind, or request a cheque at any time for the full balance of your consignor credit account. Cheques over $20 are free; for a balance under $20 there is a $1 fee. Call on or before Tuesday and your cheque will be ready for pick up by the following Thursday. We can also mail your cheque for a $1.50 fee.
Pricing
- How is my item's price determined?
- reFind prices items to sell at the highest possible profit for you while remaining competitive in the local resale market. Pricing is based on several criteria and is at the sole discretion of reFind. If you have a special concern about a particular item's price, let us know at drop-off. We may reduce a price at any time or hold a sale.
